Jinshan: Gold Mountain #1

Jinshan tells about a 16 year old Chinese American immigrant living with her family in the tight knit system of Single Room Occupancy as affordable housing. Imagine an old hotel converted to allow low income families to live in small one room units with shared bathrooms and kitchens. Mindi Min learns about the stories of the early Chinese immigrants and their hardships after coming to California to seek the "Gold Mountain", or Jin Shan, the land of hope and better opportunities.  Through current social circumstances and criminal attacks on her loved ones, Mindi rises up to fight back and protect the community as a first time superhero named Jinshan.
